plant update #3 and my birthday

I’m 22!

I would like to introduce you to my outdoor plants! I planted them all for Beltane, May 1st, and they’ve come a long way. One died, one was added, but all in all they’ve grown!

I started with black petunias, tricolor amaranth, cat grass seeds, purple/green petunias, basil, and a baby tomato. The basil roasted in the sun, but everyone else is doing amazingly!! To replace that spot on the garden shelf, my friend got me a big succulent arrangement for my birthday on June 2nd. I also put my small string of pearls, Janis Joplin, outside to see how she’d do. She’s not doing great so I may take her back inside.

Other birthday plants I got include an aloe, who when I repotted, I found not one, not two, but THREE babies!

I also got a sensitive plant, which closes when you touch it and when it’s dark. I’m attempting to grow an avocado from a seed, too.

I now also have a milk confetti syngonium. She’s really pretty and I put her in a terrarium my friend got me for my 22nd. At my birthday party I gave away another plant just like her… I had the guests take a card from my oracle deck and at the end of the party I flipped through the guide book and picked a card at random. The winner got the plant, and it actually ended up being the friend who gifted me the terrarium and the succulent arrangement!

I noticed Alejandro (my string of bananas) was really long, so I cut a few inches off the ends and I’m trying to root them to plant them in with the rest of him. This will create a fuller plant! One of the cuttings has already rooted, but I’m waiting a bit longer.

I would like to express my gratitude for my cat who only ate a piece of my dragon plant once and hasn’t touched a plant since. He’s a respectful boy! If he ate plants more often I wouldn’t have any lol.

My birthday was awesome, it was such a great time. We painted birdhouses and had cake, listened to music, and played with fire (nobody got hurt!)

Cozy campfire backyard birthday!
